IMPACT 300: The ultimate challenge for all bowling enthusiasts! A level-playing field for all bowlers of all divisions, open, graded, seniors & juniors, men & women worldwide to compete together in one main event through a fair handicap system. The Impact 300 Bowling Tournament will be held at Marina South, Singapore from the 21st February to 5th March, 2000.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT Competitors will be classified into 5 categories based on the bowlers' playing status, age & sex:
Category 2: Title-holders eg. Singapore, Malaysia, Australia,
Taiwan Open winners
National bowlers, effective
1st Jan '98 - 21st Feb 2000
Category 3: Non-title holders, effective 1st Jan 1998
Men: Above 20 years and below 50 years
Women: Above 20 years and below 45 years,
effective 1st Jan 2000
Category 4A: Seniors, non-title holders, effective 1st Jan 1998
Men: 50 years and above
Women: 45 years and above, effective 1st Jan 2000
Category 4B: Men: 60 years and above
Women: 55 years and above, effective 1st Jan 2000
Category 5: Juniors, non-title holders, effective 1st Jan 1998
Men & Women below 20 years of age,
effective 1st Jan 2000
Handicap Format
Category 1: Men: 0 pins (scratch) Women: +5 pins per game
Category 2: Men: +5 pins Women: +10 pins
Category 3A: Men: +10 pins Women: +15 pins
Category 3B: Men: +15 pins Women: +20 pins
Category 4: Men: +8 pins Women: +15 pins
TOURNAMENT EVENT All men and women shall compete in one division based on a handicapped system.
Masters Qualifying Event (with handicap): All bowlers will bowl in the Masters Qualifying comprising a series of four (4) games. There is no limit to the number of attempts by each bowler to qualify for the Masters Finals.
The Masters Finals (with handicap) shall comprise the following:-
• 15 top qualifiers from local section
• 15 top qualifiers from foreign section
• 15 top qualifiers from local/foreign section
• 3 wild card entries for guests/star bowlers
All 48 finalists will bowl a series of 12 games to determine the Top 5 Finishers for the Ste-Ladder Final.
STEP-LADDER FINAL: Played from scratch (no handicap allowed)
- Match I:
The 5th, 4th and 3rd-placed bowlers shall play in a one-game roll-off. Total pinfalls to count from scratch.
- Match II:
Winner of Match I shall play 2nd-placed bowler in a one-game roll-off. Total pinfalls to count from scratch.
- Match III:
Winner of Match II shall play the 1st-placed bowler over one game. Total pinfalls to count from scratch. If the 1st-placed bowler wins the game, he/she shall be declared Champion. If the 1st-paced bowler loses, one more game will be played, counting from scratch. The winner of this game shall be declared the Champion.
This tournament is conducted under the rules and regulations as laid out by STBC (Singapore Tenpin Bowling Congress) and FIQ-WTBA Asian Zone, and is sanctioned by STBC and FIQ-WTBA Asian Zone. |
