15th August, Kaohsiung: Korean debutant, Yang Su Jin of Wondo Haengseong City, rolled the second perfect game of the 19th Kaohsiung International Open to go top of the Women's Open Masters qualifying leaderboard on Thursday.

Yang, who was third in the standings with 1370, made her final attempt at the 1.30 pm squad and started off moderately with 196 but blizted the lanes at Southern Bowling with eight consecutive strikes from frame 3 in her second game for a sizzling 266.

She went on to reeled in 12 strikes in her third game and 20 consecutive strikes in total to finish off with 300 for a whopping 762 series. The Korean improved her lower 3-game series of 675 taking her 6-game tally to 1457 for the lead.

Overnight leader and 2019 Hong Kong Open champion, Iliya Syamim of Singapore settled for second spot with 1446 while Yang's team-mate, Choi Ae Rim slipped to third with 1382. 2019 Asian School Singles gold and triple silver medallist, Arriane Tay missed the top bracket by 55 pins in fourth with 1327.

There were no changes atop the local pool with 2018 ABF Tour Chinese Taipei champion, Su Shu-Wen maintaining her lead with 1368. Tsai Hsin-Yi and Chou Chia-Chen occupied second and third spots with 1335 and 1293 respectively.

Pitchapa Reongsiri of Thailand headed the mixed pool with 1261 while the cut in ninth position went to Chinese Taipei's Huang Chiung-Yao with 1163. Since defending champion, Julia Lam of Macau will not be defending her title, the first reserve will qualify.

The top 3 overseas and top 3 local qualifiers will skip Round 1 finals and automatically advance to Round 2. Overseas qualifiers positioned 4 to 10, local qualifiers positioned 4 to 10 and qualifiers positioned 1 to 10 in the mixed pool will contest the 8 game Round 1 finals tomorrow.

The top 16 with the highest pinfalls at the end of Round 1 finals will advnace to Round 2 joined by the top six seeded qualifiers from the general standings for another 8 games on August 17. The top 6 finishers will proceed to the Stepladder shootout finals.

Meanwhile, defending champion and overnight leader, Annop Arromsaranon of Thailand remained unchallenged to retain top spot with 1477. Team-mate and 2017 PBA-World Bowling Tour Thailand champion, Yannaphon Larpapharat fired a stunning 789 series to leapfrog into second spot with 1476 and gave Thailand a one-finish.

Early leader, Joshua Chow of Hong Kong settled for third position with 1439 while Muhd Danial Zheng Yi of Singpaore was knocked off the top bracket into fourth with 1418. First perfect gamer and newly-crowned Senior Masters champion, Chen Han of China completed the top five with 1402.

The top three positions in the local pool also remained unchanged with Chen Kuan-Yeh, Chui Po-Yang and Jack Cheng in first, second and third with 1476, 1403 and 1392 respectively. 2017 ABF Tour Chinese Taipei champion, Atchariya Cheng of Thailand headed the mixed pool with 1365.

The cut in 11th position in the mixed pool went to Hong Kong's Marco Leung with 1300. The top 3 overseas and top 3 local qualifiers will skip Round 1 finals and automatically advance to Round 2.
