32nd Asian Intercity Bowling Championships
Introduction

The 32nd Asian Intercity Bowling Championship, hosted by the Amateur Bowling Association of Sarawak, will be held from October 29 to November 5, 2018 at the Megalanes Sarawak Bowling Centre for member cities of the Asian Intercity Bowling Council of which this tournament is sanctioned by the Asian Bowling Federation and Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress.

Described as one of the most attractive cities in Southeast Asia, Kuching is the State capital. It is a city rich in history, and modern day Kuching is a delightful blend of modern structures and old-world charm.

Kuching is divided by the Sarawak River; the south is a commercial residential area, dominated by Chinese, while the north shore is predominantly Malay in character, with old kampong houses lining the river. The two parts of the city are very different in character and even have separate mayors and separate town halls.

Kuching is known to be the highest populated city in the entire Sarawak in Malaysia. While the Bruneian Empire was in administration, Kuching was the third capital. Only after Kuching was handed over to James Brooke, it became the capital of Sarawak.

While Charles Brooke was the ruler, the city kept flourishing. It saw some major development like construction of hospitals, schools, lavatories, prison and souks. World War II made Kuching a part of the Japanese province post Japanese invasion. However, the town was not damaged even after the war.

The official venue is Megalanes Sarawak, located on the 2nd floor of the E-mart Complex, Batu Kawa, 93250 Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. It has 42 lanes, of Brunswick Pro-lanes (Synthetic) with AMF 8290 XL machines. The Bowling Centre’s two Restaurants, FARM BISTRO and Lil’Baba Restaurant are located on the mezzanine level at 3rd floor. Food stalls are also available directly behind the bowling centre with a supermarket in its complex itself.

The official hotel is Imperial Hotel (For detail information, please visit www.imperialhotelkuching.com.my/). Bus transfers are available to and from the official hotel and official venue on a fixed schedule for participants and officials. For non-officials (i.e. supporters, spouses and parents), bus transfers will be available to them provided they pay an “Entrance Fee”.

With this, please find the Bulletin 1 which includes the general information of the event along with the Rules and Regulations and Schedule. Also included is the Form A (Entry Form) which must be submitted before October 1, 2018.
