7th April, Bangkok: Malaysians dominated the Youth Under-15 Masters finals of the 44th MWA-Singha Thailand International Open Bowling Championships underway at Blu-O Rhythm and Bowl Paragon by sweeping the top three positions.
Nada Nawwarah Bte Abdul Jalil of Malaysia got off to a great start knocking down a superb 234 in her opening game to lead compatriot, Brandon Lau Tze How by 30 pins. But Nada Nawwarah stumbled to a poor 169 handing the lead to Lau and trailing by 18 pins.
Lau picked up his pace with a stunning 248 in the third game to extend his lead to 34 pins as Nada Nawwarah found it difficult to stay close to the leader. A third Malaysian, Piretisha Ravichandran and Nutavat Rasisetkun of Thailand followed in third and fourth.
Although the leader added another strong game of 227 in the fourth to stretch his lead even further, Lau managed only 147 in the fifth game but still had a 77 pin cushion over his nearest rival.
