Koreans dominates Men's Grade B finals

15th December, Seberang Prai: Korean youths from Jeon-Nam Technology University, Lee Jae Won and Jo Hyeong Ho dominated the Men's Grade B Masters finals of the 47th Penang Pesta International Bowling Championships with a one-three finish.

Ridhar Rahman of Selangor got off the block well with 234 in his opening game to lead Lee by seven pins as Thaddeus Tan of Singapore and Jo followed in third and fourth with 217 and 210 respectively.

Ridhar added 243, 179 and 193 in his next three games to remain in the lead at the halfway mark. Jo trailed the leader for two games before Lee moved into second, just 1 pins adrift. Lee fired 238 and 207 to lead the next two games as Ridhar remained in second.

The Malaysian fought back galantly with 235 in the seventh game to retake the lead with Lee slipped behind in second, just six pins separating the duo. But Lee ended srongly with 217 to snatch victory with 1714. Ridhar settled for second with 1687 after managing only 184 in his eighth and final game.

Jo also ended well to claim third spot with 1646. Muhammad Haziq of Perlis and Teow Teong Hong of Penang completed the top 5 wih 1616 and 1600. Mr Lai Chia Luen, Marketing Manager of Ban Heang Sdn Bhd, co-sponsor of the championship was on hand to present the prizes to the winners.
