American PBA pro leads Squad C

4th March, Doha: 2018 World Men Championships Trio gold medallist and PBA pro, Kyle Troup of Taylorsville, N.C., took the lead of the Squad C first block qualifying round at the PBA-WBT H.H. Emir Cup 2019.

Qatar's Ahmed Al Ruwaili got off the first block with a superb 247 to lead Kuwaiti national bowler, Ebrahim Aljadi by 10 pins followed by Squad A winner, Ghanim Aboujassoum of Qatar in third, a further 10 pins away.

Abojassoum fired a stunning 267 to take over the running after the second game while Aljadi returned a respectable 232 to stay in second. Whilst Al Ruwaili suffered a 171 to drop away, Troup also posted a scintilating 269 to move into third.

The Kuwaiti continued a fast pace with 244 and 213 in his next two games to take over the lead as Aboujassoum stumbled to a lowly 187 in the third game. The American added 216 and 241 to move one spot up into second.

Troup shot 214 in the fifth game to move ahead of the Kuwaiti Aljadi by 35 pins while Aboujassoum suffered another set back with 187 to reamined in third. Despite ending with 173, Troup held on to lead the block with 1290.

Abojassoum recovered slightly with 201 to clinch second spot with 1281 followed by Aljadi in third with 1280. A second Kuwaiti national bowler, Mostafa Almousawi finished strongly to take up fourth position with 1267.

Jamal Al-Sahoti of Qatar finished fifth with 1247 ahead of 2016 H.H. Emir Cup champion and the only female in the tournament, Danielle McEwan of USA in sixth with 1232. The players will resume with their second block of six games tomorrow morning.
