Ms Lau awarded Silver Bauhinia Star

6th October, Hong Kong: Ms Vivien Lau, BBS, JP., was awarded Silver Bauhinia Star (SBS) in recognition of her meritorious public and community service over the years, in particular her significant contribution to the promotion and development of sports in Hong Kong.

Under her leadership, the Hong Kong Tenpin Bowling Congress has successfully developed tenpin bowling into one of the elite sports, with athletes winning numerous medals at various international competitions.

Since 1996, Ms Lau has been elected as the Vice-President of the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China. She led delegations of Hong Kong athletes to participate in various international multi-sports events with remarkable achievements."

The HKSAR Government appointed Vivien Justices of the Peace in 2002 and awarded her the Bronze Bauhinia Star in 2013. Ms Lau was a tenpin bowling Bronze Medalist in the 1978 Bangkok Asian Games. In 1986 she was elected Chairman of Hong Kong Tenpin Bowling Congress and has been at the helm since then.

and Hon. Life President, ABF

She was the President of Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) from 1996 - 2004. After which she stepped down and supported HE Sheikh Talal Mohammad Al-Sabah as President of Asian Bowling Federation. She became the Hon. Life President of ABF in the same year. She was the Secretary General of the then FIQ in 2011 and continued as the Secretary General of World Bowling since 2015.
