Thailand Open Para Bowling Championships 2022

It takes great pleasure in inviting your team and athletes to participate in the Thailand Open Para Bowling Championships 2022 in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. It is also known as Asian Para Bowling Championships Thailand 2022 and is part of the World Para Bowling Tour.

This event marks the re-start of the Para Bowling events under WPB Tour since the pandemic, and it will be held at the Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl, Siam Paragon, Bangkok from 27 November to 3 December 2022. This will be a 2-in-1 competition event and is open to all para bowling athletes globally.

For the visually impairment classification group, the event will be known as IBSA Asia Tenpin Bowling Championships Thailand 2022 and has received IBSA sanctioning, which will be a qualification event to the IBSA World Games 2023. There will be a licence fee of EUR25 for each IBSA certified athlete which will be payable to IBSA.

The Organizing Committee has received sanctioning from the Thailand Tenpin Bowling Association, Asian Bowling Federation and awaiting IBF as the sanctioning will alleviate the stature of the event. There will be full classification for all athletes for the event.

The events will be 6 games each athlete total pinfalls for the Singles & Doubles, while the Team/Trios will be 3 games each athlete total pinfalls. All athletes will finish 15 games total for the All-Events. Form A (Intend to Participate) must be submitted on or before 30 September, 2022. For full inofrmation, you may download Bulletin 1.

Entry Requirements
From July 1, 2022, the health authorities of Thailand has removed the need for the Thailand Travel Pass which includes removing the need for health travel insurance. All travellers need the following:

  1. A valid passport, or a border pass for arrivals via border checkpoints.
  2. A Certificate of COVID-19 Vaccination:
    • Everyone 18 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand.
    • Travellers 5-17 years of age travelling to Thailand unaccompanied must get vaccinated with at least 1 dose of an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand. Those travelling with parents are exempt from this requirement.
  3. Unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated travellers must have the following documents for entering Thailand:
    • Travellers who have proof of a negative result from an RT-PCR test or professional ATK within 72 hours of travel will be allowed entry and are free to go anywhere in the kingdom.
    • Travellers without a negative test result within 72 hours of travel are required to follow the public health instructions and guidelines as deemed appropriate by the Health Control officer at the point of arrival. All expenses incurred will be the responsibility of the travellers.

The official hotel is Mandarin Hotel Bangkok. Distance to bowling centre is 3.8km, around 25 minutes by car/ taxi in normal traffic situation. All reservations must be made directly to Thai Bowling Sport Disabled Association. The entry fees shall include accommodation, meals, transportation and competition fees.

  1. Accommodation is 6 nights on twin-sharing basis. Additional of USD50 per night/per person, if requesting for Single room.
  2. Meals include Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner starting from lunch on arrival day (27 November 2022) to breakfast on departure day (3 December 2022).
  3. Transportation include transfer from airport to hotel, transfer from hotel to bowling centre (daily) and transfer to airport from hotel.
