24th August, Jakarta: 2025 SEA Games Singles champion, Tran Hoang Khoi of Vietnam and Squad 1 leader, Carine Foo Rui Qi of Singapore bagged the Boy's and Girl's Singles gold medals of the 25th Asian Junior Bowling Championships on Monday.

Tran, who topped the second squad, started off brilliantly with 289, ten pins ahead of Jovi Mak Ka Yin of Hong Kong, China. The Vietnamese added 225 and 247 in his next two games to continue to lead the pack. A second Hong Kong national youth, Dylan Lam Nok Him moved into second after a superb 288 in his fourth game.

But Tran extended his lead after shooting a splendid 277 in the fifth game and despite ending with a moderate 182, his six-game total of 1433 was good enough to win the gold medal. Lam settled for the silver with 1376.

Squad 1 leader, Ahmed Adel Al Darwish of Qatar A held on to third to earn the bronze medal with 1359. Ma, who was in the hunt for a medal, fell short by eight pins to misse out on the podium in fourth position.

Meanwhile, Squad 1 leader, Carine Foo Rui Qi captured Singapore's first gold medal of the championships with 1189. Sharifa Askander of Kuwait, who topped the second squad with 1131, settled for the silver medal. Nura Salsabila Zulkifli of Singapore, who was second to her team-mate in the opening squad, settled for the bronze medal with 1144.

Law Wai Ching of Hong Kong, China was third in the first squad, missed out on the podium ending in fourth position with 1134 while Mur Syahira Amani Bte Abdullah of Malaysia rounded out the top five with 1131.

Ms Vivien Lau, SBS, JP., Hon. Life President of ABF presented the medals to the winners. Competition will shift to the Doubles for the boys and girls, divided into two squads tomorrow. The Team of Four, over two blocks of three games each will be contested on August 26 and 27.

The top 16 boys and top 16 girls based on their All Events standings (18 games) will qualify for the Matchplay Round-Robin Masters Finals, over 8 games in the first block on August 28 and 7 games plus a position round match in the second block on August 29.
