After successfully hosted the 22nd SEA Games in 2003, Vietnam confidently plays the role of the 3rd Asian Indoor Games organizer in 2009. Again, it is determined to excellently host this large scale Games to make it the most memorable sport event with the Asian culture and orriental style.

This is the third time the Asian Indoor Games will take place. The Games was initiated by the Olympic Council of Asia in the spirit of "a booming and developing Asia." Being the playgrounds for indoor sports, the Games always bears the impressive characteristics of the host country.

If the X-Games is considered as a breakthrough in the first AIG in Thailand, the spectators will have a chance to watch unique traditional sport performances. The competition program consists of twenty sports, four demonstration sports including the Shuttle Cock and Vovinam martial arts offered by the host.

Presently, there are 41 teams out of 45 which are registered. Vietnam, the host country lists almost 400 athletes to participate in the Games and the target is to obtain around 15 to 20 gold medals and to finish in the top eight of the continent.

The Tenpin Bowling competition will be held at the Saigon Superbwol in Ho Chih Minh City, which hosted the fourth Vietname International Open Championhsip in 2006, from October 30 to November 8 2009.
