Taiwanese, Singaporean snatches Grade A titles

16th April, Bangkok: Chen Kuan Lun of Chinese Taipei snatched the Men's Grade A Masters title of the 50th MWA-Thailand International Open Bowling Championships with a 300 in the final game while Jermaine Seah of Singapore won the Women's Graded crown.

Li Yi Feng of Chinese Taipei set a cracking pace with a perfect game to lead Pongkhun Luanvorawat of Thailand by just 22 pins. Li added 244 in his second game to continue to lead the field while the Thai shot 237 to stay close to the leader in second.

Li reeled in 218, 248 and 205 to lead the next three games while a second Thai, Tuchchakorn Senabodee and Chen Kuan Lun fought out second spot. Tuchchakorn took over the lead after the sixth game. His compatriot, Wanchai Lee moved into second spot with Li slipping down to third.

Wanchai led after the seventh game ahead of Chen in second, 7 pins adrift. Bryant Ang of Singapore moved up to third while Tuchchakorn dropped to fourth. Chen fired a perfect game in his eighth and final game to snatch victory with 1968.

Ang finished second with 1910 ahead of Wanchai in third with 1908. Pace-setter, Li missed the podium by ending in fourth with 1861. Tuchchakorn completed the top five with 1856. Chen pocketed 120,000 Thai baht as champion. Ang and Wanchai took home 60,000 and 30,000 baht respectively.

Meanwhile, ex-international Jermaine Seah of Singapore also snatched victory of the Women's Graded Masters finals in the final game with 1767 total. Ex-international, Yanee Saebe of Thailand settled for second with 1760, just seven pins adrift.

Ha Dieu Huong of Vietnam finished third with 1713. Early pace-setter, Nurul Faaiqah Binti Kamalazman of Malaysia, missed the podium after ending in fourth with 1703 while Danker Kirsten Gabrielle of Singapore rounded out the top five with 1687.

Seah took home 50,000 Thai baht as champion. Yanee and Ha earned 25,000 and 12,000 baht as first and second runners-up.
