7th March, Doha: Mostafa Almousawi of Kuwait and Kyle Troup of Taylorsville, N.C., shared victory in the Step 1 finals of the PBA-WBT H.H. Emir Cup 2019 with Francois Louw of South Africa in third.

2018 World Men Championships Trios gold medallist and PBA pro, Troup got off the block with a superb 258 to lead ex-international, Mansour Al-Hajri of Qatar by 11 pins. Louw was third and a second Qatari, Fahad Al-Emadi fourth.

The American added 219 in the second game to remain in the lead as the South African also posted 219 to move into second spot. Ebrahim Aljadi of Kuwait rolled 237 to add to his 217 opening game to take up third.

Troup kept a strong pace with 227 and 244 in his third and fourth games. Singapore's Keith Saw shot a stunning 274 in the second game while Almousawi doowned 279 in the third game to take up second and third spots respectively. Almousawi rolled another scintilating 276 in the fifth game to take over the running as the American managed 215 to slip behind the Kuwaiti.

Saw remained in third with Louw a close fourth. Troup ended stronger with 212 and Almouswai ended with 207 to finish as joint winners with 1375. Louw ended the strongest with 256 to clinch third spot with 1355 while Saw and Al-Hajri completed the top 5 with 1336 and 1285.

Ryan Lalisang of Indonesia took sixth position with 1282 followed by Aljadi in seventh with 1270. Three additional Singaporeans, Cheah Ray Han, Alex Chong and Joel Tan made the cut in eighth, tenth and 11th positions.

The two remaining spots of the top 12 to advance to the next step went to two Qataris, Khalid Al-Amadi in ninth and Nasser Jamal Al-Sahoti in 12th position. Khalid Al-Sada of Qatar missed the cut by 18 pins finishing 13th.

The top 12 will be joined by the top 8 seeded qualifiers for another six games in Step 2 finals. The top 6 with the highest pinfalls at the end of the finals will advance to the knockout stage. Third to sixth seeds will bowl two-games total pinfalls in Step 3 Finals.

The winner will meet the second seed for another two-games total pinfalls in Step 4 finals. Winner of the Step 4 finals will face the top seed in the title match over two-games total pinfalls in Step 5 finals.
