11th January, Hong Kong, China: Singles gold medalist, Natasha Roslan led her Malaysian team-mates to win all their seven matches in the first block of the Women's Team qualifying rounds at the 2025 IBF World Cup while Team USA also won all their six matches to lead the Men division.

Singles bronze medalist, Patrick Hanharan along with Matt Russo, Kris Prather and Chris Via amassed a maximum 18 points to lead Group A of the Men's Team event. Singles bronze medalist, Jaris Goh led his Singapore team-mates Darren Ong, Nu'man Syahmi, Jomond Chia to finish second to USA with 15 points.

Costa Rica, Denmark, Germany and Saudi Arabia tied third spot with 12 points a piece. In Group B, Peru's Adrian Tokashiki, Daiki Eda, Alejandro Ishikawa and Kenny Kishimoto tied with Macau, Malaysia and host, Hong Kong with 15 points each.

The men will resume with another seven best-of-three matches in the second block tomorrow after the women completed their six best-of-three Bakers Format matches. The top 8 wit the highest points tally will advance to the Quarter-finals.

The mighty Malaysian women again dominated the Team event first block of six matches contested in the afternoon. Natasha along with PWBA Player of the Year 2024, Sin Li Jane, Gillian Lim and Siti Safiyah amassed a maximum of 21 points.

China's Peng Rui, Xu Lan, Zhang Yu Hong and Yang Li Yan put in an impressive run to tie with Team USA's Bryanna Cote, Jillian Martin, Lauren Russo and 2002 World Cup champion, Shannon Pluhowsky in second spot with 18 points each.

Philippines' Marie Alexi Sy, Danielle Lazo, Grace Gella and 2017 World Cup champion, Krizziah Macatula took fourth spot with 15 points while Macau, Singapore and Sweden all shared fifth spot with 12 points each. There is only one group in the women's division and the top 8 finshers at the end of qualifying will proceed to the Quarter-finals.
