The National youth remained in the lead after the fourth game extending his lead to 72 pins. Muhammad Azizi and Chong trailed in second and third. Despite a disastrous 155 in the fifth game, Goh kept his lead albeit, just one pin ahead of the Sarawakian.
Another poor 165 in the sixth game saw Goh dropping out of contention as Chong took over the lead. Megat Zaqrul Haiqal of Penang shot a big game of 268 to move up to second followed by Muhammad Firhan in third.
Chong went on to end the finals with 223 and 237 to seal victory with a total of 1874. Megat Zaqrul settled for second position with 1849, 25 pin adrift. Muhammad Zharfan stormed home to clinch third position with 1810. Muhammad Azizi missed the podium with seven pins in fourth.
Muhammad Firhan completed the top five with 1789. Chong collected the top prize of RM30,000 as champion with Megat Zaqrul taking home RM15,000 and Muhammad Zharfan earning RM8,000 as first and second runners-up.
En. Zaim Yusop, Director of Athlete's Division, KBS, Mr Kerwin Lim Head of Sports Marketing, Nestle Products (M) Berhad and YBhg Tan Sri Dato' Mohammed Noor, President of KLTBA were on hand to present the prizes and trophies to the top three winners. YBhg Tan Sri Dato' Mohammed Nor also received a sponsorship cheque from KBS, presented by En. Zaim Yusop.
A total of 163 participants comprising of 17 Youth Girls U18, 30 Youth Boys U18, 57 Men's Graded, 15 Women's Graded, 11 Men's Senior, 8 Women's Senior, 9 Women's Open and 16 Men's Open bowled 12 games in the qualifying rounds over two blocks.
