Siti Syazwani, who barely made the top 24 cut for today's semi-finals in 20th position, ended the earlier 8-game semi-finals round with 1893 to advance to the stepladder finals as top seed.

In the final match against team-mate, Sin Li Jane, Siti Syazwani never gave her challenger any chance at all to get into the game when she downed eight consecutive strikes from frame 2 onwards to end the match with 274.

Li Jane, who topped the three days of qualifiying rounds, went down fighting with a 230 game but had to settle for second. Li Jane had earlier dispatched No. 2 Lau Kwun Ho of Hong Kong and winner of the first match, Jacqueline Sijore, 243-170-218 in the second match.

It has been a good outing for the 18-year-old Li Jane this month. She won the Singapore Open early this month and also picked up a third place finish in the 39th Philippine Open just last week.

Jacqueline, who won three gold medals at the SUKMA XIII a week ago, had made the stepladder finals in sixth position and won the first match by beating fourth-seed, Cha Ji-Hyun of Korea and fifth-seed, Remy Ong of Singapore, 240-205-207.

Hall of Famer and four-time World Cup champion, Paeng Nepomuceno of the Philippines was unlucky to miss the stepladder finals by 19 pins to finish seventh with 1775.

Siti Syazwani won the top prize of 150,000 peso (aprox. RM10,500) while Li Jane settled for 80,000 peso (approx. RM5,500) and Jacqueline took home 20,000 peso (RM1,300) for finishing fourth.

Sin Li Jane had a decent start in her first block of 8 games on Monday posting 1674 to tie sixth position in Squad B with fellow team-mate, Kang Bo Long. Her total, which included an 8-pin handicap for competing against the men, landed her in 13th position overall after the first day.

But the 18-year-old Singapore Open champion picked up her pace to fire a better second block with 1687 to top the Squad B and a 12-game total of 3452. Li Jane's improved effort moved her up to third overall.

There was no stopping the in-form Malaysian when she blitzed the lanes to bring home another superb 1655 to maintain her top spot in the squad and ending the three day qualifying rounds in pole position with 5144.
