Korea sweeps Graded Masters titles

12th December, Petaling Jaya: Chun Nam Technology University's Lee Jae Won and Hong Hee Jin dominated the Boy's and Girl's Graded Masters finals at the 20th Storm U22 International Junior All-Stars Bowling Championships by sweeping both the titles.

Lee denied Japan's Makoto Tokai and Kondo Yuta after the 22-year-old Korean amassed a 10-game total of 2191 pinfalls to claim the Boy's crown. Lee picked up RM15,000 as champion (approx. US$3,600) including a trophy, a bowling ball and a bowling bag.

Tokai and Yuta, who totaled 2170 and 2136, pocketed RM7,000 and RM3,000 including a trophy, bowling ball and bowling bag respectively as first and second runners-up. A third Chun Nam student, Han Seong Su and a third Japanese from Okinawa, Ren Tsuhako rounded up the top five with 2119 and 2104.

Chun Nam Technology University students also dominated the Girl's division with a one-two finish. Hong Hee Jin won the title comfortably with 2226, 50 pins ahead of team-mate, Geon Hye In in second with 2176.

Johor Sukma squad members, Nur Farisha Yasmin Binti Suhaimi and Nurul Aisyah Binti Halim settled for third and fourth positions with 2121 and 2114 respectively. Hong took home RM6,000 as champion while Geon and Nur Farisha earned RM3,000 and RM2,000 as first ans second runners-up.

A third Malaysian from GTA Terengganu, Nur Saadah Binti Mohd Zamri completed the top five with 2109. Ms NurulHuda Azmi, Director of Sales, Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre was on hand to present the prizes to the winners.
