7th May, Manama: 2022 Amir Cup champion, Tomas Kayhko of Finland made the top bracket of the 3rd Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Bowling Tournament qualifying standings in third position as two Emiratis, Naif Oqab and Mohammed Ismail occupied first and second.

Kayho amassed a total of 2129 with 1110 and 1019 5-game series to take up third position, 148 pins behind leader, Naif Oqab on 2265 and 52 pins behind Mohammed Ismail in second with 2169. Early pace-setter, Yousif Falah of Bahrain slipped down to fourth with 2123.

Newly-crowned 2025 Sonic Classic champion, Hafiz Zainuddin notched up 1105 and 1013 to move into fifth position with 2118 while sixth position went to Mustafa Almousawi of Kuwait with 2117. Position 7, reserved for the highest ranked Bahraini not in the top 6, went to Khalid Sameer with 2113.

The last spot and eighth position of the top bracket reserved for the highest ranked youth is occupied by Rashid AlDalhan with 1810. The top 8 earned two byes and will automatically advance to Round 3 finals.

Khalid also headed the second bracket in ninth position with 2025 IBF World Cup Team gold medalist and 2025 PBA Camelion Championship winner, Tun Hakim rounding out the top 10. The last spot in the second bracket in 16th position is held by Ivan Tse of Hong Kong with 2005.

Qualifiers positioned 9 to 16 earned one bye and automatically advance to Round 2 finals. Aseel Alroomi of Kuwait headed the Round 1 qualifiers in 17th position with 2000. Mohammad AlMerekhi is the cut in 24th position with 1973.

The two highest ranked female qualifiers occupying 25th and 26th positions were Noora Sultan of Bahrain and Samantha Hannan of England with 1992 and 1881 respectively. The two highest ranked youths not in positions 1 to 24 and occupying positions 27 and 28 were first perfect gamer, Hassan Qasem of Kuwait and Abdulmajeed AlAslani of Saudi Arabia with 1969 and 1954.

The two highest qualifiers from the Early Bird squads were Ahmed Fareed of Bahrain and Merson Gotencio of Philippines with 1974 and 1984 respectively. Qualifiers positioned 9 to 32 plus two highest scorer from the Desperado squad will contest Round 1 finals on May 9.

Qualifying rounds will continue through to May 8 with Round 1 finals scheduled for May 9 at 1.00pm local time. The top 8 after the 6-games finals will be joined by qualifiers from the second bracket for Round 2 finals at 4.00pm.
