Alvin, who finished top-seed with 2119 total in the semi-finals, started the final match of the step-ladder finals with three open frames from 5 frames against winner of the first match and third-seed Valerie Teo. Alvin was trailing by 27 pins before coming back strongly with four strikes-in-a-row from frame 6th. Alvin had a chance to shut out Valerie's challenge but was unfortunate when he failed to spare in the last frame ending up with 174.

Meanwhile, Valerie only had one open frame in the third going into the final frame. All she needed was to have a high pin count on her first ball on the 10th frame but she only hit 5 pins and failed to spare by just taking 2 pins in her second throw to tie with Alvin on 174. Alvin eventually took the title winning the 9th and 10th frame roll-off to break the tie while Valerie was unlucky to take second spot.
