Aussie, Malaysia bags tour titles

31st August, Hong Kong: Sam Cooley of Australia and Wendy Chai of Malaysia repeated their feat at the 2013 Thailand leg with victories in the Men's and Women's final match to bag the ABF Tour Hong Kong 2015 titles at SCAA Bowling Centre.

Both Cooley and Jimmy Cheung of Hong Kong started the final match with strikes in their opening frame. Whilst the Aussie spared his second frame, his challenger, Cheung failed to spare his second frame. Cooley rolled four consecutive strikes while Cheung had two more opened frames.

By the seventh frame, the Hong Kong national bowler was trailing by a big gap of 64 pins. Although Cheung sruck thrice from frame nine, the gap was just too much to make up allowing Cooley to cruise to a comfortable victory, 222-170.

The win was the Aussie's second tour title. His first was back in Bangkok at the 2013 Thailand leg. The champion had a sweet revenge over Lee Tak Man of Macau, whom he lost to in Bangkok back in April this year, beating Lee 245-189 in the second semi-final.
