24th May, Busan: Korean women dominated the final qualifying squad of the 2018 PBA-WBT Busan Cup International Bowling Tournament with Son Yunhee of Daejeon City leading KPBA's Yun Huiyeo in second and Korean National team member, Jeon Eunhee third.

Overnight squad leader, Yun continued where she left off when she started her second block with a sizzling 270 to stretch her lead from 23 to 77 pins. Top Korean pro, Choi Wonyoung remained in second with 234.

Ex-international and gold medallist for numerous Asian Games and World Championships, Son Yunhee also got off the block well with 242 to trailed in third with Indonesia's Hengki Susanto and KPBA's Kang Winhwan right behind the trio.

Despite knocking down only 195 in the seventh game, Yun still had a comfortable margin of 75 pins over Choi maintaining second. Son downed 232 to move closer to Choi but still far behind the leader.

Yun struggled to find her strides after she managed only 167 in the eighth game. Hengki shot 258 to take over second spot and narrowed the gap to just 14 pins as Son overtook Choi for third spot. The Korean women pro recovered slightly with 201 in the ninth game to remain in the lead. Son posted 236 to move into second spot followed by Hengki slipping down to third and Choi in fourth position.

Son ended the block stronger with 248 to win the squad with 2342. Yun managed 209 to settle for second spot with 2316 while Jeon stormed home with 227 and 247 to snatch third spot with 2286. Choi and KPBA's Kang Winhwan rounded out the top 5 with 2272 and 2247 respectively.

There was a keen tussle for the last three spots for the cut. 2017 Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games Singles gold medallist, Annop Arromsaranon of Thailand rolled 279, 196 and 226 to clinch tenth position with 2198.

2017 Philippine Open champion, Kenneth Chua of Philippines rolled 246 and 205 to snatch 11th position with 2197 while KPBA's Kim Areum rolled 225 and 216 to seal 11th position with 2194. 2016 H.H. Emir Cup champion, Danielle McEwan of USA missed the cut by 7 pins despite finishing with a final game of 238.

The top 11 will join the other top 11 from Squads B, A and D contested earlier today to qualify for the final round scheduled to be held at 6.00pm local time tomorrow.

The finals for the General Division will be held at 9.00am followed by the Women Division at 1.30pm. The top 2 finishers in the General division and the top 2 in the Women's division will proceed to the stepladder finals on May 26. The top 4 finishers in the Open division after the final round will proceed to the stepladder finals.
