The events provide the seniors with opportunities to socialize and compete in an atmosphere of fun and friendship, thus promoting an active and healthy lifestyle among the seniors, Moreover, the events give the seniors opportunities to enjoy themselves and make new friends from all over the world.
The tenpin bowling championship will be held from November 15 to 19, 2010 at S.F. Strike Bowl, Ngamwongwan, a suburb near Bangkok, Thailand. This tournament is sanctioned by the Thai Tenpin Bowling Association (TTBA), Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) and World Tenpin Bowling Association (WTBA). Hence all WTBA Playing Rules and Regulations apply.
Local and overseas bowlers aged 50 and below as at 30th April, 2010 are eligible to participate in this tournament. Bowlers aged 55 and above will be given a handicap. They will get 1 pin for each year, from age 55 onwards. The handicap is given for each game played. It will be used throughout the tournament.
Bowlers will compete in the SINGLES (6 games), DOUBLES (6 games per bowler) and TEAM OF FOUR (3 games per bowler). The 15 games played will constitute the ALL-EVENTS standings which will decide the qualifiers for the Masters Semi-finals.
The top 40 men and top 20 women will qualify for the Masters Semi-finals. Each bowler will bowl a series of 6 games from scratch, with handicap. The 6th and final game will be the position round game. Total pinfalls with handicap will determine the winners for each category.
The official hotel is the Imperial Queen's Park Hotel. The hotel has provided us with a special rate of US$75.00 nett per room per night Single or Twin with breakfast. Only those who book their hotel rooms through us are eligible for free transport shuttle service to and from the bowling center.
