5th October, Bangkok: 2017 Webber Cup winning member, Stuart Williams of England ran away with a victory in Round 3 Finals of the 2017 PBA-World Bowling Tour Thailand ahead of Shalin Zulkifli of Malaysia in second and defending champion, Jesper Svensson of Sweden third.

5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games Doubles bronze medallist, Michael Mak of Hong Kong set a cracking pace with a 267 opener to lead American, Tommy Jones of Simpsonville, S.C. by 11 pins and Williams in a close third.

Williams added a superb 257 in the second game to take over the running. Jones continued to trail in second as Mak suffered a poor 165 in his second game to drop off the pace. The Brit, who finished third in the 2017 Xtra Frame Jonesboro Open losing to eventual winner Francois Lovoie, continued his relentless pace reeling in 234, 248, 257 and 235 to wrap up the round with a total of 1477.

29th SEA Games triple gold medallist, Shalin Zulkifli of Malaysia stormed home with a sizzling 267 to snatch second position with 1440. Defending champion and winner of six PBA titles, Jesper Svensson of Sweden also ended with a strong 258 to clinch third spot with 1417.

Two-time WBT Thailand runner-up, Ryan Ciminelli of Cheektowaga, N.Y., USA, who was trailing Williams after the third game, settled for fourth position with 1413. The second best female finalist, Danielle McEwan of USA rounded out the top five with 1391.

Early pace-setter, Tommy Jones of Simpsonville, S.C., USA faded off to finish sixth with 1367. Mak recovered to take up seventh position with 1355. Top Japanese pro, Shota Kawazoe, Rafiq Ismail of Malaysia and Tannya Roumimper of Indonesia completed the top 10.

2014 PBA-WBT Thailand champion, Osku Palermaa of Finland and Francois Louw of South Africa were the remaining two to make the cut for Round 4 Finals in 11th and 12th positions respectively.

The top 12 will be joined by the eight seeded qualifiers from the general standings for another 6 games commencing tomorrow at 10.00am local time. The top eight finishers will advance to the Final TV Shootout.

Finalists seeded 6 to 8 will be matched over one game with the winner proceeding to face the fourth and fifth seeds for another game.

The winner of the second match will meet the third seed in the third match. The winner of the third match will face the second seeded finalists for another one game. The winner of the third match will face the top seed over a beat-twice format in the championship match to decide the champion.
