First double victory for Malaysia

17th December, K.Lumpur: Malaysian youths celebrated a first double victory at the concluding 11th MILO International Junior All Stars Championship when national keglers, Khoo Beng Khai and Siti Sahzwani claimed the Boy's and Girl's Open Masters titles.

National youth and Asian Youth Championship Team gold medalist, Khoo Beng Khai thrashed team-mate, Aris Ardila, 253-217 in an all-Malaysian finals to win the top prize of RM30,000 (approx. US$9,600) and the the coveted title.

Khoo, who finished the earlier 10-games finals with a total of 2374, never gave his opponent any chance of settling down and took only one game to take victory. No. 3 seed, Aris had earlier beaten No. 2 seed, Javier Tan of SSP Singapore and No. 4 seed, Michael Chan of Hong Kong, 234-168-200 to earn his crack at the title.

Aris, a member of the national backup elite squad and Khoo's team-mate at the Asian Youth Championships winning the Team gold, took home RM15,000 while Chan, who finished third won RM8,000 and Tan RM5,000.

Tan finished second in the finals with 2318 followed by Aris in third with 2305 and Chan 2296. Muhd Amirrul Afif of Malaysia, missed the stepladder finals by 5 pins after he finished fifth.


In the girl's division, PBAP Classic champion, Siti Shazwani of Malaysia won her second international title this year after she needed only one game to dispatch challenger, Clara Lau of Singapore, 233-208 in the title match.

Siti Shazwani also topped the earlier 10-games finals with an impressive 2298, 104 pins ahead of Clara in second with 2194. Newly-crowned Girl's Graded champion, Victoria Chin and national backup elite squad member, Hee Kar Yen made the stepladder cut in third and fourth with 2191 and 2186.

Clara advanced into the championship round after she ousted third-seed, Victoria and fourth-seed, Kar Yen, 238-205-225 but found Siti in great form. Siti won RM18,000 as champion with Clara taking home RM10,000.

Victoria and Kar Yen settled for RM5,000 and RM3,000 for finishing third and fourth positions. Nr Ng Ping Loong, Marketing & Promotions Manager for main sponsor, Nestle Products (MILO) gave away the prizes.

Australian, Malaysia finished tops

16th December, K.Lumpur: Australian youths bounched back to take the top two spots in the Boy's Open Masters overseas pool of the 11th MILO International Junior All Stars while Aliff Imran snatched pole in the local pool on final day of qualifying.

Second perfect gamer, Matt Watson bounched back to give Australian youths a one-two finish in the Boy's Open Masters overseas pool after he shot 763. Watson could only totaled 653 when he shot the tournament's second perfect game two days ago.

Overnight leader and compatriot, Ashley Warren slipped down to second with 755 with Singapore's Justin Lim Chun Liang dropping to third on 753. Two Singapore youths, Ng Chiew Pang and Jonathan Ng improved to round up the top 5.

National youth, Aliff Imran defied all odds to spring a surprise by overhauling three-time Junior All Stars champion and his senior national team-mate, Adrian Ang with a stunning 786 qualifying effort to take over pole position.

Ang and another team-mate, Syimir Abdul Razak slipped down to second and third with 767 and 755 while Muhammad Syafiq of Sarawak and Tan Chien Nan both improved to move up to fifth and sixth positions behind Johnathan Chan in fourth.


Troy Marshall of Western Australia, Alex Li of Hong Kong and Annuar Sallim of Singapore joined the 42 qualifiers after they finished top 3 in the desperado squad.

Meanhile, there were no changes atop both the local and overseas pool of the Girl's Open qualifying standings. Stacy Lian of Singapore and Yeo Jing Yi of SGCC Singapore joined the 34 qualifiers after they finished top 2 in the desperado squad for girl's division.

The Girl's Open Masters finals will be held tomorrow at 8.30am with the Boy's Open Masters finals in the afternoon at 1.00pm. The top 3 girls and top 3 boys will advance to the stepladder finals.

A clean sweep for Malaysia

16th December, K.Lumpur: Malaysian youths dominated the Graded Masters finals of the 11th MILO International Junior All Stars Championships with a clean sweep of the podium positions with Selangor's Victoria Chin and Wan Nadzmi Fikri winning the Girl's and Boy's titles.

Girl's Under-15 Masters second runnerup, Victoria Chin made amends by capturing Girl's Graded Masters crown with a total of 2111 over ten games. The Selangor lass finished with a convincing margin of 99 pins.

Nur Amirah Auni of Penang settled for second position with 2012 ahead of Siti Nurzulaika Ismail of Kuala Lumpur taking third spot with 1977 to give Malaysia a clean sweep of the top 3 positions.

Top qualifier, Dzuraini Zulkiplee of Sabah and Farahana Amelia Bte Radzi of Kuala Lumpur, also of Malaysia, completed the top 5 positions with 1961 and 1954 respectively.

Malaysian youths also made a clean sweep of the Boy's Graded Masters top 3 positions after Wan Nadzmi Fikri of Selangor amassed an identical score of 2111 to snatch victory by finishing strongly with 214 and 266 in his last two games.

Jeremy Jorome Jonathan of Sarawak took second spot with 2108, just 3 pins adrift. Muhammad Faizal B Rahmat completed the sweep in third position with 2066, a further 45 pins away.

Singapore's Derrick Liau Lee Chuen settled for fourth spot with 2033 while Chan Kam Fook of Kuala Lumpur made up the top 5 with 1989.

Wan Nadzmi won RM12,000 as champion with the first and second runnerup taking home RM6,000 and RM3,000 respectively. Victoria Chin was richer by RM6,000 with her victory and the second and third runnerup taking home RM3,000 and RM2,000.

Singaporean youths shine again

15th December, K.Lumpur: Singapore youth shone again as Justin Lim Chun Liang split Australia's domination in the Boy's Open Masters overseas qualifiers' pool of the 11th MILO International Junior All Stars Championship on Wednesday.

Justin Lim totaled an impressive 753 to pip Daniel Webb of Western Australia by 13 pins but fell short by just 2 pins from leader, Ashley Warren of Australia in pole position with 755.

Hong Kong Open Youth champion, Cheng Hsing-Yueh improved slightly to take up fourth spot with 726 while second perfect gamer, Sam Cooley of Australia rounded up the top 5 with 718. Gan Ju-Yen, Jonathan Ang, Ng Chiew Pang and Javier Tan were the other Singapore youths in this pool.

Three-time Junior All Stars champion, Adrian Ang reclaimed pole position last night with an improved 767 dislodging compatriot, Syimir Abdul Razak into second spot with 755. Early leader, Johnathan Chan finished third with 745.

Meanwhile, Kwa Ai Teng of NSRCC Singapore, surged into second spot with a superb 677 to trail leader, Libby Embury of Western Australia in pole with 686. Newly-crowned Singapore National Women champion, Bernice Lim also notched up 649 to move up to third.

Other Singaporean girls making the cut were Michaela Oehler of Singapore Sports School in fifth, Clara Lau and Ilma Nur Jannah in 10th and 11th. Isanelle Lee of NSRCC, Stacy Lian and Daphne Aw are in the mixed pool.

Singapore Open Women's champion and 2008 Junior All Stars champion, Sin Li Jane shared top spot with National youth Lim Hsu Zen in the local pool. Two-time champion, Siti Safiyah Amirah is third with 695.

Qualifying for the Graded division ended this evening at 7.00pm and their Masters finals will be staged tomorrow, December 16. The Masters finals for the Open division will be held on December 17.

Aussies stamp their mark

14th December, K.Lumpur: Australian youths stamped their mark at the 11th MILO International Junior All Stars as Ashley Warren and Sam Cooley occupied the top two spots in the Boy's Open Masters overseas qualifiers' pool while Matt Watson shot the tournament's second 300.

Sam Cooley of Australia, who has been here in Malaysia since day one of qualifying round, had already made improvements to fire 674 and was leading the Boy's Open Masters overseas pool for the past few days until he was dislodged by Hong Kong Open Youth champion, Cheng Hsing-Yueh of Chinese Taipei last night.

But the 19-year-old from New South Wales on his 20th attempt, made further improvements to 710 to take the lead late last night. His lead again was snatched away, but this time by his compatriot, Ashley Warren.

Warren shot 269, 242 and 244 to take over the lead with 755 while another Aussie, Matt Watson posted the tournament's second perfect 300 in his first game of the 3.00pm squad. But the lanes just went away for the 23-year-old as he managed only 154 and 199 to end with 653.

Cooley then returned for his 21st attempt at 5.30pm squad and shot his career 17th and the tournament's third perfect 300 on his third game after rolling 220 and 198 earlier. His new total of 718 kept him still in second.

"I've not seen such a hugh response to a junior tournament ever and this is by far the biggest I've competed in," said the 23-year-old Warren, who represented Australia at the Asian Youth Championship in Kuwait.

"Although this is my first tournament here but sadly it'll also be my last as I won;t be eligible. I'm sure many more youths from Australia will come here next year.

While the Aussies made their mark, three-time Junior All Stars champion and Asian Games Doubles gold medalist, Adrian Ang quietly regained top spot in the local pool with a stunning 767. Syimir Abd Razak and Johnathan Chan slipped down to second and third.

There were no changes in the local pool of the Girl's Open division but Western Australia's Libby Embury posted an impressive 686 to take over top spot in the overseas pool. Overnight leader, Michaela Oehler dropped to second with 631.

Hong Kong's Victoria Chan did well to make the cut in third position with 629 while EBT Ranked No. 2, Wendy Kok of the Netherlands and Bianca Tofilau of New Zealand shared fourth spot with 628.

Qualifying for the Graded division will end December 15 while the Open division continues till December 16. The Graded Masters finals will be held on December 16 and the pen division on December 17.

Maiden wins for Malaysia, Singapore

14th December, K.Lumpur: Steffira Zeandea Greater of Sabah, Malaysia and Shaun Lau of SGCC Singapore took their maiden victory in the Girl's and Boy's Under-15 Masters finals of the 11th MILO International Junior All Stars Championship on Tuesday morning.

Steffira Zeandea Greater, who was second in qualifying, took over the running from game 3 and never looked back as she romped home to a convincing victory with 1669 to win her first major title.

The Form 2 SMK Datuk Peter Mojunting student downed 217, 193, 257, 236, 232, 183, 173 and 178 to win by 22 pins from the strong finishing Victoria Chin of Selangor, Malaysia. Chin who trailed the leader after the sixth game, settled for second with 1647.

"The field is so strong especially with so many good bowlers from Singapore, I can't believed that I've won," said the 14-year-ld Steffira, whose first victory was winning the Girl's U12 GP Finals in Kuantan two years ago.

Steffira also won this year's Junior Circuit Sabah leg in the Girl's Open division but did not do too well in the GP Finals. Her best result in senior company was a sixth-place finish in the Sabah Closed.

Singapore National Championship Ladies champion, Kwa Lay Teng of Singapore Sports School did well to finish third with 1631, a further 16 pins adrift. Yeo Jing Yi of SGCC Singapore and Kylee Thio of PBC Singapore completed the top 5.


Meanwhile, Singapore took the top two positions of the Boy's Under-15 Masters finals with Shaun Lau of SGCC Singapore winning his first international title with 1692. Muhammad Danial of Singapore Sports School finished second with 1631.

Muhammad Rafiq B Ismail of Kuala Lumpur finished third with 1623, just 8 pin further away. Two Singapore Sports School finalists, Muhd Jaris Goh and Darren Ong completed the top 5 with 1608 and 1587.

"I finally got to win my first international title," said the 15-year-old Shaun Lau, who won the Singapore National Championship Secondary School Boy's title last month. "I competed here for the last three years and failed to qualify.

"I was already very happy to make the finals and to win it is even most rewarding. Now I'll concentrate on trying to qualify for the Open division," added Lau, who is also the Secondary School League Masters and the National Age Group U15 Boy's Champion.

All the winners took home a trophy each, Storm bowling bag and bowling ball sponsored by Storm Products. The prizes were presented by Mr Kamarulzaman, Storm's representative.

Malaysian misses 300 by 1 pin

13th December, K.Lumpur: Malaysian national youth, Syimir Abdul Razak missed a perfect game by 1 pin during his qualifying round of the 11th MILO International Junior All Stars Championship to take over pole position in the Boy's Open Masters qualifying leaderboard on Monday.

Syimir, who was seventh with a best effort of 711, got off to a great start with an opening game of 253 but only managed 203 in his second game. But the 19-year-old got the packed Mega Lanes on a standstill as he went up on the lanes for his 12th shot after reeling 11 consecutive strikes.

Syimir was ready to celebrate his perfect game when he made a seemingly perfect shot only to see a stuborn pin 10 standing denying the Malaysian to win the special RM1,000 daily perfect game award.

But he did come away by winning a Storm bowling bag for surely scoring the highest game of the day. His 299 effort gave Syimit a total of 755 and moving up into pole position. Overnight leader, Johnathan Chan and Adrian Ang both slipped one spot down to second and third.

Chinese Taipei's Cheng Hsing-Yueh took over top spot in the overseas qualifiers' pool with a first qualifying effort of 704. Y.H. Chen gave the Taiwanese a one-two finish taking second spot with 688 ahead of Singapore's Jonathan Ng Yew Weng in third with 680.


Singapore Sports School's Michaela Oehler also took over the lead in the overseas pool with 631 pushing New Zealand's Bianca Tofilau and Netherlands' Wendy Kok into second and third spots.

Newly-crowned Singapore National champion, Bernice Lim took fourth spot after her only attempt with 623 while Chinese Taipei's S.M. Chen rounded up the top 5 with 612.

There were no changes in the local pool with Singapore Open champion, Sin Li Jane firmly in pole with 736. High game achiever, Hee Kar Yen is still second with 691 while Indonesia Open champion, Zatil Iman moved up into third after posting 690.

The last squad for the Under-15 division will end tonight at 7.00pm with their Masters finals to be held tomorrow, December 14 at 8.00am.

Youth bags first international titles

13th December, K.Lumpur: Soh Yong Ping of Agape Bowling Singapore and Nur Dayana of Kuala Lumpur bagged their first intertional title with victory in the Boy's and Girl's Under-12 Masers finals at the 11th MILO International Junior All Stars Championship.

Soh bagged the title with an impressive 1618 on 202.25 average over the 8-game finals ahead of Malaysia's Afiq Irsyaduddin in second with 1437 and top qualifier, Sean Gabriel Wong of ACS(P) Singapore third with 1431.

At the halfway mark, it was Soh who surged into the lead after rolling 182, 203, 180 and 231 and opening up a margin of 37 pins over the early pace-setter Nikhil N Gangaram of Singaporein second.

Despite managing only 188 and 170 in his next two games, Soh blitzed the lanes with 256 and 208 to end the finals with 1618 with an impressive 202.25 average. Afiq settled for second with 1437, 181 pins adrift.

"I'm so happy for winning the title in my first international outing," said the 12-year-old Anderson Primary student, Soh Yong Ping, who won the Under-12 Boys title at the recent Singapore National Championships.

"I dedicate this win to my coaches at Agape and my parents for their support," added the pint-sized champion. Soh finished second in the Novice Bowling Challenge II for primary school Senior division and won two silver medals at this year's Inter-Primary School Championship.


Meanwhile, Nur Dayana of BSD 1 Primary School, Bandar Sri Damansara, won her first international title by storming home in her final game with 246 to snatch victory with 1488. Leader, Ayra Nur Jehan gave Malaysia a one-two finish after taking up second with 1485.

"I'm delighted and so happy to win my first title," said Nur Dayana, who finished seventh last year. "I'll now see if I can qualify for the Under-15 division today and hope to make the Masters."

Amanda Lee of Strike Academy Singapore, who led in the fifth and sixth games, slipped down to third with 1442. Ellysha Syafeena of Sarawak and Rena Ng Yan Lin of PBC Singapore rounded up the top 5.

Sarawakian vying for first title

12th December, K.Lumpur: Sarawak youth, Muhd Syafiq Sajeli set sight on his first international title after an impressive third place finish in the Boy's Open Masters qualifying table at the 11th MILO International Junior All Stars Championship on Sunday.

Muhd Syafiq Sajeli, who was just 11 when he won the Junior All Stars Boy's Under-12 title in 2007, has yet to make his mark since turning 16. Last year Muhd Syafiq did not make the finals after numerous attempts.

He is more determined this year and he got his reward after a fifth attempt registering an impressive 734 with lines of 214, 243 and 277. The Sarawakian, who also won the Team silver medal at this year's Malaysian National Inter-State Championships, trailed leader Johnathan Chan and three-time champion Adrian Ang in second.

AMF Australian Masters champion, Sam Cooley remained in the lead of the overseas pool with 674 after his tenth attempt followed by Thailand's Phumin K. in second with 669. Shaun Lau of PBC Singapore moved into third spot with a superb 655 effort.

Singapore Sports School Under-18 International champion, Leo Tse of Hong Kong took up fifth spot with a creditable 644 while Jonathan Ng Yew Weng of Singapore completed the top 5.


In the Girl's Open division, current European Ranked No. 2, Wendy Kok of the Netherlands posted 626 to take up second behind leader in the overseas pool, Bianca Tofilau of New Zealand on 628.

Wendy, who won the Bowltech International in Aalborg, Denmark in May and finished second in the BNC Bratislava Open in Slovakia in October, is a strong title contender in the finals. Clara Lau of Singapore made up the top three with 549.

This year's Indonesia Open champion, Zatil Iman edged Natasha Roslan of Bowl Excel by just 1 pin to take up third with 690. Natasha and two-time champion, Siti Safiyah Amirah completed the top 5.

The Boy's and Girl's Under-12 qualifying ended at 7.00pm and their Masters finals will be staged on Monday, December 13 morning at 8.00am. The last squad for the Under-15 will be tomorrow at 7.00pm.

Singapore dominates Boy's U15

12th December, K.Lumpur: Singapore youths dominated the Boy's Under-15 Masters qualifying table of the 11th MILO International Junior All Stars Championships by occupying the top two spots as Sabah youth, Steffira Zeandea Greater topped the girl's division.

Singapore Sports School's Marcus Leong took over the lead in the Boy's Under-15 Masters qualifying table with a superb 702 posted this morning. In his fifth attempt, Leong started off with a moderate 209 but went on to end the round with 246 and 247 to the delight of coach, Thomas Fox.

Shaun Lau of SGCC also did well with 692 to give Singapore a one-two finish. Overnight leader, Tan Kean Hoong of Malaysia slipped back to third with 682 after having held that pole position for the past three days.

The youths from Singapore Sports School were making an impact in this division with Muhammad Daial, Darren Ong, Muhd Jaris Goh, Joel Tan and Benedict Tan all assuring themselves a spot in the finals.

Singapore youths will certainly give their opponents strong challenges especially after having taken up 15 of the 18 final spots during their finals on December 14.


Meanwhile, Sabah's Steffira Zeandea Greater, who won the Team gold medal during this year's Malaysian National Inter-State Championships, also took over top spot of the Girl's Under-15 Masters qualifying table after posting 671 yesterday.

Early leader, Natasha Roslan of Bowl Excel droped down to second with 669 ahead of Western Australia's Libby Embury in third with 666. Singapore Sports School youth girls were well represented too.

Joy Yap and Tracy See, who shot 648 and 644, led ten other Singapore girls to occupy 12 out of the 18 Masters finals slots in this division. Of the 12, five were also from the Singapore Sports School.

12-year-old Sean Gabriel Wong of ACS(P) also led another Singapore youth, Timothy Tham of PBC to take up the top two spots in the Boy's Under-12 division with 689 and 627. Wong, winner of 3 gold and 2 bronze medals at the Inter-Primary School Championship rolled 258, 245 and 187.

Aussie gets it right

11th December, K.Lumpur: Australia's Sam Cooley finally got it right after ten attempts to post a respectable 674 to lead the Boy's Open Masters overseas pool of the 11th MILO International Junior All Stars at Sunway Mega Lanes on Saturday

Sam Cooley of Australia, who won a silver medal at the Helsinki World Youth Championship in July, arrived Malaysia a day before the championship started on December 8. He took to the lanes since the first day and only managed a best of 628 over the past three days.

But on his tenth attempt, he shot a respectable 674 to lead the Boy's Open Masters overseas pool. The Aussie's biggest career victory was winning the AMF Australian Masters in October defeating Paul Trotter in the championship match.

Cooley's compatriot, Troy Marshall of Western Australia finished second with 632 followed by another Aussie, Daniel Webb in third spot with 593.

National youth, Johnathan Chan of Malaysia remained firmly in the lead with 745 ahead of three-time Junior All Stars champion, Adrian Ang in second with 743. Another national youth, Tan Chien Nan from Sabah is third with 728.


Meanwhile, national backup squad member Hee Kar Yen of Malaysia came close to scoring the tournament's second perfect game. The 19-year-old started off her qualifying round with 210 and 190 but in her third game, she rolled 10 consecutive strikes.

But a stuborn pin 10 prevented her from winning the daily perfect game prize of RM1,000 and having to settle for 289. Her three-game series of 699 move her up to second in the local pool behind leader, Sin Li Jane on 736.

Natasha Roslan slipped down to third with 689 followed by Siti Safiyah Amirah fourth with 669 and newly-crowned Taipei Open Youth champion, Syaidatul Afifah completing the top 5 with 668.

Most of the on-going qualifying comprised mostly of the under-12 and under-15 youths as their masters finals will be held on Monday and Tuesday, December 13 and 14. Making an impact were youths from Singapore Sports Schools.

Muhd Danial came close to scoring a perfect game but ended with 288 for qualifying score of 667 to take up second to Malaysia's Tan Kean Hoong in the Boy's Under-15 division. Jeol Tan joined Muhd Danial in third with 651.

Joy Yap, also from Sngapore Sports School finished third with 646 in the girl's division behind Natasha Roslan of Malaysia and Libby Embury of Western Australia in first and second with 669 and 666.

Qualifying for the under-12 will end on Sunday at 5.00pm (Finals Monday, December 13) and the under-15 will end on Monday at 5.00pm (Finals Tuesday, December 14). The Masters finals fro the Graded and Open divisions will be held on Thursday, December 16 and Friday, December 17.

National youth clinches pole

10th December, K.Lumpur: Malaysian national youth, Johnathan Chan clinched pole position in the Boy's Open Masters qualifying table of the 11th MILO International Junior All Stars edging overnight leader, Adrian Ang by 2 pins.

Johnathan Chan, who won the Team gold medal at the 15th Asian Youth Championship in Kuwait early this year, started off with a moderate 208 and then quickened his pace with a stunning 279 and 258 to end the round with a superb 745 series to snatch the lead.

Chan, who has several Junior Circuit titles under his name, has yet to make his mark after joining the national youth ranks three years ago. He has qualified for many Masters finals but his best effort was finishing as second runnerup at last year's Penang Pesta Open.

"Making the masters is important and topping the table is less important," said the 19-year-old Johanathan Chan, who is a pre-U student at the Bukit Jalil Sports School here in Kuala Lumpur. "The most important is to do well in the finals and I intend to do just that."

Three-time Junior All Stars champion and Doubles gold medalists at the recent Guangzhou Asian Games, Adrian Ang settled for second with 743 and national youth, Tan Chien Nan slipped down to third with 728.


In the Girl's Open division, Singapore Open champion, Sin Li Jane remained in pole position after posting 736 yesterday. Selangor's Natasha Roslan took a surprise second with 689 relegating early leader and two-time champion, Siti Safiyah Amirah into third spot with 669.

This year's Indonesia Open champion and Asian Games Team bronze medalist, Zatil Iman moved up to fourth position with an improved 646 effort late last night while national youth, Fatin Azmira of Perak completed the top 5 with 642.

Selangor's Victoria Chin topped both the Girl's Graded and Girl's Under-15 qualifying standings since the opening day with 645 and 604 but lost her Under-15 top spot to Natasha Roslan last night.

First perfect gamer, Timmy Tan also remained atop the Boy's Graded qualifying table with a convincing 745 series followed by Tan Kean Hoong and Wan Nadzmi Fikri in second and third with 686 and 655 respectively.

Bus load of youths mostly under 12 and under 15 from the ACS Primary School Singapore, Agape Bowling, Strike Academy and many individuals will take to the lanes today for their qualifying rounds until their finals on December 13 and 14.

Former champ takes over lead

9th December, K.Lumpur: Three-time champion, Adrian Ang of Malaysia staked his claim for a fourth victory after taking over the lead in the Boy's Open Masters qualifying table at the 11th MILO International Junior All Stars at Sunway Mega Lanes.

Fresh from his debut at the Guangzhou Asian Games during which he partnered Alex Liew to win the Doubles gold medal, Adrian Ang is on a hot streak reeling in 279, 248 and 216 to take over top spot with 743.

Ang won his first Junior All Stars title in 2003 when he was just 15 and then achieved a historical double when he won it again in 2007 and 2008. This prestigious junior tournament will be Adrian's last as he will turn 23 next year and he will want to end his junior days on a high.

The national elite squad member dislodged overnight leader and national youth, Tan Chien Nan, who shot 728, into second spot followed by Kuala Lumpur's Kua Jian Wen slipping down to third with 725.

Australia's Sam Cooly, a regular at this tournament for the past four years, is the only overseas contestant in the Boy's Open division and he headed the table with 618.


Meanwhile another former champion, Sin Li Jane improved on her earlier attempt of 564 to 736 at the 1.00pm squad with lines of 258, 212 and 266 to take over top spot in the Girl's Open division.

The 18-year-old Perak lass, who won this year's Singapore Open Women's Masters crown, had a disappointing debut at the Guangzhou Asian Games in which she only came home with a Team bronze medal. She will be hoping to return to form during the finals.

Two-time champion Junior All Stars champion (2004 and 2006) and overnight leader, Siti Safiyah Amirah slipped down to second on 709 with Selangor's Natasha Roslan of Bowl Excel third with 657.

The first overseas girl who will be making her attempt is Bianca Tofilau from New Zealand, who is competing in the tournament for the first time.

Qualifying continues through to December 16 with the finals for the Open division on December 17. The 2nd All-Stars Classic 2010, which is open to all bowlers will be held on December 18 and 19.

8th December, K.Lumpur: Kuala Lumpur youth, Timmy Tan shot the tournament's first perfect game en-route to taking the early lead in the Youth Boy's Graded Masters qualifying table of the 11th MILO International Junior All Stars underway at Sunway Mega Lanes on Wednesday.

Timmy Tan, who finished third in the special 9-Pin Tap opening event earlier, posted the tournament's first perfect game ending his qualifying round with 754 to take the lead in the Youth Boy's Graded standings.

The 17-year-old student from Klang has two titles under his belt winning the SportExcel-Milo-NSC-MTBC Junior Circuit KL and Pahang leg this year. Tan pocketed the daily perfect game prize of RM1,000 (approx. US$315) for his effort.

Tan also made his attempt in the Youth Boy's Open division and finished a respectable fourth with 690. But he may have to improve on his score if he wish to secure a spot in the finals.

Meanwhile, Malaysian national youth, Tan Chien Nan topped the Boy's Open table with a stunning 728 averaging 242.67. Tan, who also qualified No. 1 in the recent Chinese Taipei Open Youth division but ended a dismal 14th position, will be eying to do better in the finals.


National backup squad member, Yusuf Abdul Raof trailed Tan in second with 710 while Guangzhou Asian Games Doubles gold medalist and two-time Junior All Stars champion, Adrian Ang finished third with 706.

National Elite squad member and twice Junior All Stars champion, Siti Safiyah Amirah grabbed the early lead in the Youth Girl's Open division with a superb effort of 690. Natasha Roslan os Selangor finished second with 657.

National youth, Fatim Azmira from Perak took third spot with 642 followed by anothe national youth, Puteri Nadia and backup squad member, Hee Kar Yen completing the top 5 positions with 640 and 568 respectively.

Strong contingents of youths from Australia, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore are expected to pack the qualifying rounds from Sunday, December 12 and will end on Wednesday, December 16.

Masters finals for the Youth Under-12 and Under-15 will be held on Wednesday, December 13, the Youth Graded finals on Thursday, December 16 and the Youth Open on Friday, December 17.
