22nd May, Petaling Jaya: Romahanum of Malaysia clinched the Women's Senior Masters crown of the Kuala Lumpur International Open Bowling Championships ahead of Felinda Grzybowska of Philippines and Roskiza Bte Said of Malaysia in second and third.

Susan Ng of Singapore got off the block with a superb 229 in her opening game to lead Romahanum of Malaysia by 15 pins as Hasnah Jamaluddin and Michelle Wong of Malaysia share third spot. Two more strong games of 199 and 216 from Wong saw the Malaysian surged into the lead at the halfway mark.

Hasnah trailed Wong by 30 pins while Romahanum followed in a close third. Hasnah took over the running with a splendid 214 as Wong suffered a lowly 162 in the fourth game. Romahanum remained in third with Rosliza Bte Said and Felinda Grzybowska of Philippines making good progress.

Romahanum took advantage when the front runners found it difficult to maintain a strong pace, moving into the lead after the fifth game. Hasnah slipped down to second and Rosliza taking up third.

Despite ending with 168, Ramahanum held on to win with 1178. Grzybowska snatched second position with 1168 and Rosliza third with 1163. Fatimah Bte Saidin and Salwa Buang of Malaysia rounding out the top 5 with 1147 and 1142 respectively.

The champion earned RM4,000 for her effort with Grzybowska and Rosliza pocketing RM2,000a dn RM1,000 as first and second runners-up. Tan Sri Mohammad Noor presented the trophies and prizes to the winners.
