National bowlers lead qualifying standings

28th May, Petaling Jaya: 2023 Penang Pesta champion, Izz Naqiuddin Putera of Malaysian National Squad and 2023 Malaysian Open champion, Lavina Kho Jia Jie of ABAS/Sarawak led the Open Masters qualifying standings of the Kuala Lumpur International Open Bowling Championships 2025.

Izz Naqiuddin posted two massive 3-game series of 774 and 720 to lead the overall standings with 1494. Chong Jun Foo of Hero Bowling, Sarawak also impressed with 765 and 695 to take up second spot with 1460 while 2025 IBF World Cup Team gold medalist, Tun Hakim finished third with 1447.

Musayyar Khalid of Sunway Megalanes and Muhammad Amirul of Abahcaca, Malaysia rounded out the top five with 1446 and 1429 respectively. The top 28 in the mixed pool will make the cut for the finals on June 1.

Meanwhile Lavina Kho topped the eight women qualifiers with 1401 from two 3-game series of 716 and 685. Malaysian National Podium squad member, Faten Najihah and IBF 2025 Youth World Cup bound, Adania Redzwan finished second and third with 1382 and 1340 respectively. The top eight women will automatically qualify for the finals.

The top 28 from the mixed pool and the top 8 women qualifiers will contest the 8-game finals to determine the champion, who will walk away with the top prize of RM30,000 (approx. US$7,000).

Lavina Kho also topped the Youth Girls Open division with 1364 followed by Helena Binti Jamal in second with 1336 and Anis Hannani in third with 1330. Muhammad Hafiz Darwisy of PTBPP, Penang led the Youth Boys Open division with 1467.

National Youth, Airel Amri took second spot with 1439 and Muhammad Addin finished third with 1433. The top 16 Youth Girls Open and top 24 Youth Boys Open qualifiers will contest their 8-game finals on May 30. The Youth Graded finals and the Graded Division finals on May 29 and May 31 respectively.
