Korean shoots sixth 300

22nd June, Macau: Han Jae Hyeon of Korea shot the tournament's sixth perfect game en-route to making the top bracket of the Men's Open Masters qualifying standings at the 2017 Macau China International Open on the final day of qualifying.

Han, who had registered a high series of 797 two days ago and was looking set to add another high series to move up the leaderboard. But the Korean National Sports University student struggled thereafter and was unable to repeat his feat.

The Korean did improve slightly but managed only to finish tenth position with 1481. But at the 3.00pm squad, he fired 12 consecutive strikes to become the sixth perfect gamer.

At the same time, he had amassed a six-game tally of 1550 to equal his compatriot, Hwang Sung Hyun total and to share second spot. The overall leader, Lee Jae Jung with 1571, gave Korea a clean sweep of the top three spots.

2015 AMF World Cup champion, Wu Siu Hong of Hong Kong, who had just squeezed into third with 1548, was pushed down to fourth while his team-mate and second perfect gamer, Joshua Chow rounded out the top five with 1540. India's Dhruv Sarda, who missed the perfect game on three occasions, finished sixth with 1530 while first perfect gamer, Michael Mak of Hong Kong completed the seven qualifiers who have surpassed the 1500-mark with 1528.

Fourth perfect gamer, Lee Jung Soo headed the mixed pool with 1486 and the cut at 18th position went to Chu Wai Kim of Hong Kong with 1435. The cut could still rise upwards by the time the last squad finishes tonight.

2015 ABF Tour Macau leg winner, Veronica Dias De Souza is the Women's Open local seeded qualifier as the top three local qualifiers remained unchanged. Julia Lam, Filomena Choi and Un Im Cheng would automatically advance Round 2 finals.

The top three qualifiers in the overseas pool also remained unchanged. Lee Young Seung of Korea with 1534, led two Malaysians, Nora Lyana Natasia and Radin Nur Najwa on 1491 and 1408 respectively. Early leader, Joey Yip of Hong Kong, who is in fourth position, is vying to get into the top bracket before qualifying ends.

Kim Mi Ae headed the mixed pool with 1329 as the cut at 13th position is held by Leong Mei Sheung of Hong Kong with 1123. Three more squad remain before qualifying ends late tonight.
