Shah Alam A, Kuala Lumpur tops Senior Doubles Squad A

27th October, Shah Alam: Isham Md Razali and Singles gold medalist, Adnan Osman of Shah Alam A and Mustura Binti Mahmud and Nur Hashilah Binti Hashim of Kuala Lumpur topped the Senior Men and Senior Women Doubles opening squad of the 36th Asian Intercity Bowling Championship on Sunday.

Petaling Jaya's first pair of Eddie Tong and Joe Tay got off to a superb start with 400 in their opening game to lead Isham Md Razali and Adnan Osman with Pasay's first pair of Victor Emmanuel Agu and Emmanuel Filimon Laurel sharing second spot with 390.

Pasay 1 moved into the lead after adding 403 in their second game, followed by Shah Alam A1 remaining in second while Petaling Jaya 1 dropped down to third. Isham and Adnan took over the running with a strong 394 in their third game.

Both Pasay 1 and Petaling Jaya 1 stumbled in their third game allowing Shazally B Mid Khamis and Mohd Nor B Mahmud to move into second spot. Despite ending with 344 in their fourth game, Shah Alam A1 held on to their lead with 1474 total.


Senior Men Doubles Squad A top 4, Shah Alam A1, Kuala Lumpur 1, Pasay 1 and Petaling Jaya 1

Kuala Lumpur 1 finished second with 1455 ahead of Pasay 1 in third with 1443. Petaling Jaya 1 settled for fourth position with 1442, just one pin further away.

In the Senior Women division, the first Paranaque pair of Ma Theressa M. Salvador Agu and Pia Basa set the early pace with 362 to lead Kuala Lumpur first pair of Mastura Binti Mahmud and Nur Hashilah Binti Hashim in second with 354. Nor Asiah Sani and Siti Zariah Suradi of Shah Alam A1 was third with 343.

The Kuala Lumpur pair stretched their lead after a good game of 368 as Paranaque 1 continued to trail in second. Shah Alam B1 pair of Anizah Mohd Sies and Sariah Ngadenan moved into third spot as Shah Alam A1 pair slipped down the field with a poor 313.

Kuala Lumpur 1 went on to seal top spot with 344 and 376 for a total of 1442. Paranaque 1 finished in a distant second with 1328, 114 pins adrift. Shah Alam B1 clinched third spot with 1298 while Kowloon's first pair of Money Chin and Catherine Yuen finished fourth with 1297.

The second Senior Women and Senior Men Doubles squad will take to the lanes tomorrow at 9.00am for their 4-game preliminaries. The top 4 from the combined squads will advance to the medal rounds schedule for 9.00 am on October 29.
