5th March, Taoyuan: Thai national bowlers, Supakrit Wantasuk and Napat Buspanikonkul ruled the third squad of the 2nd Formosa International Bowling Classic 2025 qualifying rounds to finish one-two ahead of Li Ying Chi of Chinese Taipei in third.

Napat Buspanikonkul set a blistering pace in his opening game with 257 to lead Li Ying Chi of Chinese Taipei by 22 pins followed by Singapore season veteran, Hairon Bin Awang in third. Hairon added another strong game of 227 to take over the running.

Napat returned a 209 in his second game to trail the Singaporean by seven pins while Supakrit Wantasuk shot 234 to move into contention. Despite rolling only 194 in the third game, Hairon remained in the lead as both the Thais managed only 182 and 146.

Hairon continued to lead with a an average game of 197. Li bounced back with 216 and 256 in the third and fourth games to take over second spot while Napat remained in third and his compatriot in fourth. Supakrit ended the block with a sizzling 268 to win the squad with 1086.

Napat also ended well with 231 to take up second spot with 1072. Li settled for third with 1062. Li Shiao Ping, the highest female too fourth spot with 1061 and a third Thai, Lapadanai Chusaeng rounded out the top five with 1059. Hairon ended poorly with 180 to drop down to ninth position with 1018.

The final squad of the first block will take to the lanes at 10.15pm, albeit an hour late. The bowlers will resume with their second block of five games tomorrow and a final block of five games on Friday, March 7.
