22nd September, Tamuning: The second Taichung pair topped Squad B with Taichung 2 in second and joined Squad A leader, Tamuning 1 and Taichung 1 for the Men Doubles medal round of the 38th Asian Intercity Bowling Championship while New Territories 2, Subang Jaya 1, Yigo 2 and Dededo 1 made the cut for the Men Senior division.

The first Tamuning pair of Cisco Uncango and Ray San Nicolas had earlier topped the opening squad with 1695 37 pins ahead of Taichung's first pair of Chen Kuan Yeh and Chen Kuan Lun in second with 1658. Jack Wong Hui Fung and Frank Lam Chin Fung of Hong Kong 1 finished third with 1647.

The first Paranaque pair of Kevin Oliver Cu and Singles bronze medalist, Jeffrey Carabeo took fourth position with 1610 and Andre Chew and Mark Leong of Singapore 1 rounded out the top 5 with 1607.

Taichung's second pair of Tsai Yu Lun and Singles gold medalist, Tsai Yu Shuo topped the second squad with 1648 followed by Taipei's second pair of Li Yu-Hung and Ken Lan Shao-Kang in second with 1636. The second Hong Kong pair of Julian Ho and Ocean Yeung finished third with 1632.

Meanwhile in the Men Senior division, the first Subang Jaya pair of Gary Chan and Singles silver medalist, Ng Yew Hup led Squad A with 1577 in the morning. Vigil Toledo and Singles bronze medalist, Rick Torres of Dededo 1 took second spot with 1537.

Tamuning 1 and New Territories 1 finished third and fourth with 1481 and 1384 respectively. Singles bronze medalist, Sam Lam and Henry Hui of New Territories 2 led Squad B with 1634 ahead of John Abad and Singles gold medalist, Manny Tagle Jr. of Yigo 2 in second.

Paranaque 2 and Hagatna 2 finished third and fourth. New Territories overtook Subang Jaya 1 to claim top-seed for the medal round. Dededo 1 and Yigo 2 made the cut in third and fourth positions. The Doubles medal round finalists will meet over two-game Baker Format style semi-final round.

If a tie exits after two games, a one-ball roll-off by the anchorman will break the tie and determine the winner to advance to the gold medal match. The Women and Women Senior will contest their 4-game preliminaries tomorrow.
