31st May, Petaling Jaya: Malaysian National Podium squad members, Nur Syazwani Sahar and 2025 IBF World Cup Team gold medalist, Timmy Tan both made impact during their qualifying rounds of the Kuala Lumpur International Open Bowling Championships 2025 on Saturday.

Nur Syazwani, who as having a hard time making the cut in the past several days with countless attempts, finally found her rhytmn and line to reel in a superb 733 and 672 series for a total of 1405 to take up second in the Women's pool.

IBF Youth World Cup bound and National Youth, Adania Redzwan remained in the lead with 1443 while another National Youth, Qurratu'ain Izdihar was content with third in the pool with 1404.

National Podium member, Faten Najihah, Lavina Kho Jia Jie of ABAS, Sarawak and newly-crown Youth Girls Open champion, Adelia Nur were all through to the finals from fourth to sixth. Nurul Alyssan Junaidi and Japanese debutant Shion Izumune will join the top 8 women for tomorrow's finals.

Meanwhile, Sam Cooley of Australia also remained the overall leader in the Mixed pool with 1532. Timmy Tan made his mark by taking up second position with 1522. Chong Jun Foo of Hero Bowling, Sarawak also improved to firm up his third spot with 1511.

Malaysian Naional Podium Squad member, Syafiq Ridhwan who had dropped out into 30th position, bounced back with a brilliant 790 series to haul himself up into fourth with 1505 while reigning National champion, Muhammad Hazim Bin Alihanafiah rounded out the top five with 1498.

The current cut at 28th position before qualifying ends late tonight went to Yeri Ramadona of Indonesia with 1436 and is in danger of being knocked. The top 8 women and the top 28 in the Mixed pool will contest their finals tomorrow at 10:00hrs over 8 games.

The finals for the Graded division will be staged at 21:00hrs later this evening.
