Malaysia bags sixth gold, Philippines second gold

25th January, Bangkok: Marcos Chang Hao Hong and Wong Kee Soon bagged Malaysia's sixth gold medal of the 13th ASEAN Para Games Thailand 2025 winning the TPB9+9 Doubles event with their other pair adding the silver while Patrick Eusebio and Kim Ian Chi of Philippines won their second gold in the TPB10+10 event.

The Malaysian pair led from start to finish with lines of 390, 458, 400, 467, 387 and 404 for a record-breaking 2506 total to secure their sixth gold. Nadia Syafika Binti Abd Rahman and Mohd Azrin Bin Rahman picked up the silver medal with 2469.

Loo Chee Wai and Low Chang Hong of Singapore, who trailed the champion up to the fifth game, settled for the bronze medal with 2279. Chantira Hutinan and Sawai Padpong of Thailand missed the podium after finishing fourth with 2194. Indonesia and Philippines completed the firld of six pairs in this category.

Meanwhile, Mohd Fauzi Bin Md Ghazali and Muhammad Amin Bin Abd Rashid set the early pace leading Patrick Eusebo and Kim Ian Chi in second. The Filipino pair fired two sizzling games of 437 and 447 to take over the running at the halfway mark.


TPB8+8 Doubles silver and gold medalists, Malaysia 2 and Malaysia 1

The Malaysian pair trailed the leader by big gap of 96 pins. Eusebo and Kim ended with 409, 438 and 342 to seal the Philippines' second gold medal with 2366. Malaysia settled for the silver medal with 2202. Apina Taisutan and Kornchira Woon of Thailand took the bronze medal with 2112.

The second Thai pair of Raiwin Phitsitthanakul and Preecha Wetchkama missed the podium in fourth with 2072. Malaysia emerged as the overall champion of tenpin bowling with a medal haul of 6-7-1, a total of 14 medals. Singapore finished second with 2-1-2.

Indonesia and Philippines had two gold and one bronze medal each to share third spot. Thailand finished fifth spot with a haul of 1-4-6 and Brunei took sixth spot with a haul of 1-1-1. A total of seven ASEAN nations participated in this year event at Blu-O Ryhthm and Bowl Espanade Ratchada.
